Kimberley’s passion and purpose in life is to help corporate women over 40 prioritize their emotional wellbeing while balancing work, family and life commitments . She teaches women the importance of regularly tapping into their emotions, nourishing their nervous system and mind without overwhelming them or breaking their bank accounts. All from a natural approach.

Over 20 years ago, she stepped onto a yoga mat with the hoping to “escape” from the reality of her life. Her life was a mess. She was married to an abusive alcoholic who almost took her life, was trapped in a corporate job that didn’t fulfill her and she had no emotional intelligence at all. The need to escape on all levels was real. She spent more time in doctors offices getting nowhere but more frustrated and overwhelmed, being told she was depressed, anxious and needed medications.

Not at all interested in that approach, Kimberley decided to take control of her life on her own terms. Off to Mr. Google she explored. Realizing that overwhelmed her even more, a friend suggested she try Yoga to help her relax her mind and tune into her body.

Over the course of 10 years, she played with many styles of Yoga and they all helped on many levels. However, she still felt like she was missing out on something bigger. Yoga brought her the “escape” she was looking for, yet in each class, Kimberley wondered if there was more to learn. She continued with her Yoga practice knowing that eventually what she really needed would surface. Eight years later, she landed in a Yin Yoga class.

That changed everything.

From the very first Yin Yoga class, Kimberley knew that there was something more powerful to the practice then the physical stretch to her connective tissues, ligaments and joints. The practice brought her a sense of wellbeing on a level that she didn’t quite understand at the time. She was connected to what she was feeling inside her body, instead of escaping from it. This style of practice was allowing her to confront emotions trapped in her body, allowing her to breathe in each uncomfortable moment knowing it was safe to feel and release these suppressed emotions. She was no longer escaping from her life, she was empowering herself into the present moments of each day, shifting towards a state of awareness and emotional wellbeing. She was realizing the connection between her thoughts, feelings and emotions and how it was disempowering herself in her life.

YIN YOGA LITERALLY SAVED HER LIFE

With this new found understanding, Kimberley embarked on the journey to study Yin Yoga in more depth. She studied with many well known teachers such as Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley and Bernie Clarke; all masters of Yin Yoga. You can find out more about their gifts at https://www.YinYoga.com

Kimberley was so profoundly affected by the practice that she eventually went on to teaching Yin Yoga as to educate other students on its emotional benefits.

Finding Reflexology was simply an extension of her empowered state. Understanding that Reflexology offered the same benefits and worked in the same manner as Yin Yoga, she studied Reflexology Therapy.

Kimberley’s experience of blending Yin Yoga with Reflexology led to a profound transformation in the her emotional health. She no longer reacted when “life lifed her”. She was calm, composed and in control within each moment. When there was “dis-ease” in her body, she knew the tools to use to help her process and release her emotions safely.

That was when she created her own business “SolefulYin“.

Kimberley now operates a successful in person Reflexology practice and an online Yin Yoga and Wellbeing studio inclusive of Yin Yoga and Gentle Movement Flow based classes, Mindset Masterclasses, Courses, Meditations and Breath-work techniques.
